3 WAYS ON HOW TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE (TCM) WITH MODERN WESTERN INNOVATIONS CAN HELP YOU ACHIEVE YOUR BEST HEALTH TODAY: WAY 2

TCM Touts Thousands of Years of Proven Efficacy and Refinements Through Modern Technologies.

To understand how TCM can help restore a healthy balance to your body, we must go back to the origin of TCM. The story of TCM dates back to the 11th century BCE, almost 3,000 years ago in the Shang Dynasty of Ancient China.

During this time, the Shangs believed in a deity called “Shang Di”, which may be interpreted as the “Most High God”. However, unlike most Abrahamic faiths, the Shangs also practiced various rituals in Ancestral worship and other shamanistic practices. Through communication with different spirits, they believed that they received revelation on the cause of their illnesses, and what they can do to heal them.

Divine Intervention? Maybe.

At this early stage of TCM, The Shangs still did not use the herbs and practices we associate with TCM today to heal their ailments. Instead, the Shangs followed a spiritual approach to their health issues, relying on guidance from spirits, which they believed had direct communication to “Shang Di”.

Later, as subsequent generations followed after the footsteps of their ancestors, the spiritual origin of TCM eventually changed into what we know today as more “modern” TCM beliefs such as cold, heat and dampness etc.

This was also the time when the oldest documented book on TCM, the Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine, was written. In this book lies the foundation of all modern TCM practices in diagnosis, treatment, and beliefs we have today.

With only 1,900 herbal medications documented in the 16th century, TCM now has over 12,800 published and recorded herbs written in the Chinese Materia Medica (CMM). The wisdom and methodologies of TCM has helped heal and restore the lives of millions of people, while touching and affecting hundreds of generations throughout the millennia.

And that, my friend, is how it all began.

Over 3,000 Years of Proven Efficacy

Very few systems or branches of medicine can claim the long-standing, proven healing effects of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

And there’s the science to back it up.

According to a randomized controlled trial on the treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), patients treated with Chinese herbal medication prescribed by a TCM practitioner showed significant improvements to their IBS. This 16-week study was conducted as a double-blind, randomized test trial to eliminate any possibilities of biases affecting the results.

Placebo capsules were also given to test subject groups to ensure true effectiveness of the TCM herbal medication.

On top of that, a follow-up appointment after 14 weeks showed that people who continued with the TCM herbal treatment maintained their improvements. What about the people who did not continue on with their treatment? Well, their IBS came back.

TCM herbal ingredients also have proven effects in reducing the progression of Type II Diabetes

The Chinese Herbal Medication “Tianqi” was tested over a 12-month period to see how effective it was at treating Type II Diabetes in patients. The results? The TCM medication was proven to reduce the risk of Type II Diabetes by 32%.

Oh, and it also resulted in zero negative side effects when used in accordance with the prescribed dosages and methods.

The studies that show the proven healing and restorative effects of TCM herbal medications are endless. From doubling the success rates of fixing female infertility compared to traditional IVF methods, to even aiding in the treatment of Leukemia, TCM is truly a blessing to those seeking natural alternatives to their health concerns.

Today, close to 1 out of 4 Americans are reportedly turning to herbal supplements and natural medicine to heal their ailments. Moving forward, we hope to see even more studies proving the efficacy of TCM in the future!

Modern Advances Using TCM Herbal Ingredients

In 2015Youyou Tu was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for discovering a cure for malaria by identifying and extracting the healing elements of Artemisia Annua (or Sweet Wormwood). This herb has been used for thousands of years in TCM to treat fever and is now credited to saving the lives of millions of people affected by malaria.

By combining this ancient Chinese herb with modern research in medicine, Youyou Tu was able to successfully find an anti-Malaria drug to cure one of the deadliest diseases in the world.

This is just another example of how TCM has helped millions of people over thousands of years to find balance and healing to their bodies.
